Busy Weekend and Santa!

This weekend was VERY busy. On Saturday we hid out indoors from the snow, made a gingerbread house....or at least attempted to; however some one (eh hem Jason) broke one side of the roof and every time he tried to fix it, the problems just got worse and worse. Until finally the house was no longer standing and we were just eating candy. Hailey sure enjoyed eating the candy as did we.

Sunday we went with Danny, Julie, and Tayven to his sister's house to make sugar cookies with their family. I had wanted to make some, but this apartment is quiet cramped and there idn't enough counter anywhere to roll dough. Hailey just loved it all, by the end she was white from flour. After cookies we went with them to dinner at her parents and Hailey quite enjoyed the remote control Jeep they had while Ikey played in the exersaucer.

Monday was back to work and off to see Santa. Work was long today in anticipation of Christmas. I did however buy Jason one fabulous present today!!!! After work Jason and the kids picked me up and we were off to the mall to see Santa. Ike didn't mind him, however Hailey burst into tears, so we only have pictures of Ike.

Santa looked a little off in this one, but it was the best one of Ike.

As for me..I am officially enrolled to begin school on February 1st!!! YIPPEE!!! I'm super excited!

Stuffy Noses and Going Back to School

It has been a pretty uneventful couple of days! Ike has been sick with a cold, keeping all of us awake when we should be sleeping. Good thing he has a cute smile!!
Today my parents came up to see us and the kids before they headed to Minnesota. We love seeing them and are very greatful to have them around. However we will miss them dearly over the holidays!!! This will be my first Christmas away from them! It's weird to think of making my own holiday traditions with my family. I just don't feel like I'm old enough to not have Christmas with my family. I guess it was bound to happen one day or another, I guess we are going on Hailey's 3rd Christmas. It's probably about that time! That time to grow up.
Also I will be starting school in February!!! I decided there's no time like the present to go back. One of Jason and my close friends works for an online university and it just seemed right. I have wanted to go back for some amount of time now, however I just didn't think I had the time. Going online solves all of that! So in a few years you will be able to refer to me as Mrs. Jensen Elementary School Teacher!!! Yes, I do know that this seems like and odd occupation for me to chose, but I took all factors into consideration. Mainly the factor that I want to be at home with my kids as much as possible. And as a teacher I will be able to have similar days off to the kids, so it should work out great.

Getting Ready For Christmas

The last couple of weeks have been jam packed with Christmas Preperations. We have done everything from putting up the tree, buying presents, to looking at lights at Temple Square. Hailey was very excited to see the lights and the Temple.
The lights at the temple were such a beautiful sight. We went with Jason's family and really enjoyed seeing one another. After looking at lights Hailey decided that she wanted to stay at Grandpa Gary's house. She had a fun filled night with Grandpa Gary, Grandma Lynne, and Aunt Erin. They even went to Target to get her some of the things that she might need the next day. She ended up with a pretty green dress, shoes, socks, underwear, yogurt, milk, and pizza. They had quite the adventure I'm sure as it is Hailey's favorite store.
As for the rest of us Jason and I went to the Layton Hills Mall after looking at the lights. They have alot more stores than Logan and we don't get down that way much without any children. It was nice to have a few minutes to ourselves to shop. After that we were off to get Ike from Grandma Jayne and Grandpa Hal and back to Logan.
We had quite a fun night! The rest of the weekend was filled with handing out and mailing Christmas cards...Start looking they'll be in your mail boxes soon!!!
As for this week we are hoping to slow things down now that Jason is on Christmas break! However we have our fingers crossed still for closing on our house and Jason finding a job. He is going to start sending out resumes now in preperation for graduation in May!!! I can hardly wait until he is done. It will be alot of stress relieved!

New Car Seats!!!

Last night I went to Walmart and bought Hailey a new car seat! She still has room in hers however, Ikey is getting HUGE! He now weighs 18.5 lbs and is 27.5 inches long. His car seat will only hold him to 20 lbs or 28 inches. This being said it was time for new car seats! Hailey got the car seats we are giving to Ike when she turned 1! At 1 she didn't even need new car seats, I'm pretty sure she didn't even weigh 20 lbs, but 1 year is a milestone and that's what we do! Apparently however Ike is needing to switch early, which is alright, I guess. I just want my babies to stay little forever, but alas that isn't going to happen.

We also put up or Christmas tree the other day and Hailey did most of the decorating. It has red ornaments and white lights. However Hailey picked the tree topper which lights up blue and green. It doesn't really match, but it made Hailey feel important to pick it out.

Tomorrow thank goodness is Friday! We will have a very busy weekend as Jason had drill and we have our annual Army Christmas party.

VACATION!!!

The past few days have been wonderful, stressful, fun and exhausting, all the traits of a family vacation! We went up to Wolf Creek to spend Wednesday and Thursday nights, as Jason very seldomly gets 2 nights off in a row. Needless to say Jason was super excited to catch up on some much needed sleep. We spent the night in our condo on Wednesday relaxing and watching Disney movies with Hailey. Thursday after we woke up we got ready and headed to Grandpa Bob's house to celebrate Thanksgiving!!! We had a delicious dinner with the Bateman's andd we were very excited to have mom and dad here, as I haven't had a Thanksgiving with them in over 3 years! After dinner at Grandpa Bob's we headed over to the Warburton's (Jason's Grandparents)to celebrate with them. It was fun to see both sets of family, and Hailey was excited to go home with Grandpa Gary, Grandma Lynne, and Aunt Erin for a 2 night sleep over!!!
On Friday Jason, Ike, and I went with Mom and Dad to look at houses. We are so excited to have Dad living here soon!!! We found several BEAUTIFUL homes up by Wolf Creek! They are brand new and GORGEOUS! Just incase dad is reading this...my vote is Greenie!!!!! It is big, beautiful, and you guessed it...Green. It is my favorie of all the homes we have looked at. However any of the homes would be wonderful for them. We are just excited to see mom and dad taking the next step towards dad living here!
Today we went to pick up Hailey after Jason woke up. We picked up our Christmas tree from Jason's parents as well and plan on setting it up tonight or tomorrow. Hailey is very excited as she LOVES Christmas. Mainly though because she knows that after Christmas comes her birthday and "I will be 3 years old and a big girl!"
As for tomorrow only time will tell, we have to get the last load from our house as the tentative new closing date is Tuesday. Hopefully it is this time, but I guess we shall see!

We Don't Say That Word!

Hailey has picked up a new saying at daycare... "WE DON'T SAY THAT WORD!!!" she even puts her hands on her hips and scowls when she says it. Anytime someone says stupid or dumb we hear these words and chuckle at the little scowl on her face. Here is a video of it, I am sorry it's sideways, but it's the best I have at the moment.

Ike is getting his first tooth!!! I had a dream last night that I woke up this morning and he had nine teeth coming through, but luckily when I looked it was just one!!! It is so cute, I'll try to get a picture when it is in a little better! He is also making more of an attempt to crawl. He gets his knees going, but he hasn't moved anwhere yet. It is fun to watch them learn. Whenever he is trying Hailey is always right there saying, "come on buddy, you can do it." It is so cute how much they love eachother.

As for us, we were supposed to close on our house on Tuesday, but it looks like now we are shooting for December 1st. We have to wait for the buyers to sell theirs and it looks like they have to do a few things and then we will be set to close on ours!!!

It's About That Time

I guess it's about time that we start one of these blog thingys! I have I guess been putting off the inevitable, but it seems to be that time now. So I guess I will have to thank Aunt's Katie and Sarah letting me enjoy their blogs for so long without having one of my own. You should just all be aware that I have my hands full with Hailey and Ike and I will probably not put anything on here for days at a time!

As for us in the Jensen household, we are all ill or recovering from one illness or another! Over the past month we have been passing around the germs that Hailey has ever so kindly been bringing home from day care with one another. Hopefully we will get back to being healthy soon.

We are also looking forward to the end of this semester for Jason and are very excited that the Spring 2009 semester will be his last. And we look forward to watching him walk in early May!!! It will be so nice to have Jason be able to find a career that he will love and that will allow him to spend more time with us!!! Right now he goes to school full time and works at Saralee at night, so we don't see him as often as we would like.

Hailey is getting so big and smart. She will be 3 in 3 months and she can already spell her name!!! She also knows the beginning letters to our names and everyone in her class, it is so wonderful to watch her learn and grow.

Ike is also growing quickly, he will be 7 months old in 3 days!!! About a week ago he decided that now was as good a time as ever to learn to sit and hasn't stopped. He always wants to sit and play with his toys, his favorite being his stacking rings.

And I am the same old, I go to work and I come home to cook dinner. I was attempting to work out, but with these illnesses I have had to put a hold on that. I hope to get back to the gym tomorrow evening! In exciting news!!! We are scheduled to close on the selling of our house on the 25th (also Jason's 28th Birthday)! Cross your fingers it all goes as planned! It will be nice to build up some savings, so that we are able to build our dream home here in the next few years!

As I said I will try to remember to post things regularly, but if not just keep checking I will write eventually!
