It has been quite a fun weekend. On Saturday we spent most of the day relaxing at home, then it was off to my dad's birthday dinner. We went to Ruby River it was quite delicous and also extremely wonderful to get to spend time with my dad's sisters who I don't see much. It is really nice to get together with family that we don't get to as often as we would like. Then it was off to Lowes to pick up some screws for the deck. Now all we need is the are the deck boards and some stain! After the deck is done it will be off to the next project. It is between painting Ike's room, the kids play room, or my new idea for our basement make over (we will see if it goes through or not). We are thinking about making the basement more cabin/countryish. Jason has always wanted to decorate this way, but I've always said no since it doesn't match what we already have, but I'm thinking that the basement will work, so we both have a place in our home that feels the way we want it to.
Today we spent the day with my parents and went up the BR and to Avon/Liberty (I think) it's up the mountain between Logan and Eden. It was so beautiful. I could live out in the country forever. I'm thinking I could be a farm girl...maybe. However I will not knowingly eat any of my own animals :) the key is knowingly. However I now think I will have to learn to ride a horse and a few other things, but I am really feeling good about being in the middle of nowhere forever. After the fun with my parents it was back home for dinner and bed. It has been a long and wonderful day. I am so greatful for my wonderful parents! They are two of the greatest people in the world. Thank you Mom and Dad for the wonderful weekend I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!!!

Jason is Finally Home!
So, Jason is finally home (YAY)! We were getting into a groove without him, which makes me feel more comfortable with my parenting skills :) But we are so very greatful to have him home! He came home on Thursday, but our two weeks wasn't over until after yesterday's Army picnic. The picnic was at Willow park and it was a lot of fun. Hailey made friends quickly and played at the park. Ike was Jason's side kick and I finally got to know a few of the other wives. Meeting the other wives was probably a good thing since I am now the leader of our unit's FRG (Family Readiness Group). This is both terrifying and exciting. I'm not sure how hard it will be, but I guess I will find out soon. I am calling someone tomorrow to ask them to come up and train our new group. I am super excited for this new adventure and will soon be able to update you on it.
Today we had a wonderful Father's Day! We had my parent's, Jason's parents, Jason's brother Justin, his wife Julie, and sister Erin over. We grilled hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken, and mom made her most delicious funeral potatoes. I really enjoyed having the whole family together. All in all it was a wondeful weekend.
Now off to bed, since it's back to work tomorrow!

What a Week!!!
So this last week has had it's ups downs and inbetweens! I've realized that if I were a single mom I would live in an apartment. Since Jason has been gone one of the sprinkler line broke, then the outlet that the sprinkler system plugs into went out, and oh yes the swamp cooler didn't work. AHHHH I thought I may lose my mind. However I have the most amazing family! My Dad fixed the swamp cooler after many hours on the roof! and my father in law fixed the sprinkler line!! YAY for fabulous fathers this close to father's day. I think they are this wonderful naturally, but they may be sucking up for good gifts :)
Now when Jason comes home (on Thursday YAY) he just has to deal with the outlet. So that will be a relief to him. We are super excited to have Jason come home. We have been missing him like crazy, even though we just finally got into the single mom routine which is about right since Jason will be home in 2 days.
Over the weekend we went and bought Jason's Fathers day present! A most fabulous blue grill (no, Jason won't read this and if he did....well I already told him). My mom and I also recoverd my kitchen chairs by turning the most adorable fabric into oilcloth.

The chairs turned out AMAZING!!! See below...it is the before and after!

Really it has been an amazing week. I have had a lot of good quality time with my kids and my parents. I really don't get to see my dad that often since he lives in Minnestoa and am truly greatful to get to spend as much time with him as I do.
So, YAY for another good week.

It's been a while........
Since the last post (over a year ago) we have moved to Bear River (it's between Brigham City and Tremonton for those of you who are wondering where in the heck Bear River is). Hailey had her 4th birthday and Ike turned 2. We got a german shephard named Roxy who I have a love hate relationship with and have a new kitten Aggie the 2nd.

Our new house is fabulous in someways and a pain in my butt in others, but all in all I love our house and it's location, so the bad isn't all that bad. We have .8 acres which is mostly grass, this is fabulous when we are playing outside, but not so great when we have to mow it. We have 5 bedrooms...just enough for us and the 4 kids we plan on having :) and 3 bathrooms...thank goodness! The more bathrooms the better you can never have too many.
Hailey's 4th birthday party was wonderful we had a Princess and the Frog theme and she just loved all of her presents; However she didn't even take one bite of her cake.

Ike also enjoyed his birthday, but I wonder why we wrapped his presents since he didn't care to open them and let Hailey open them all. Then enjoyed playing with them all.

Jason was promoted in the Army this year to Staff Sergant and is now off to his two weeks of Army he has to do.
In February I took a new job with the same company working from home auditing the files for the apartments. It is wonderful to have more time with my family, but I do also enjoy the traveling aspect, since it gets me some adult time.
For the past few days I have been lucky enough to be alone. Gary and Lynne (Jason's parents) took the kids on Friday and aren't bringing them back until tomorrow. It has given me a bit of time to do things I have been itching to do and get things done around the house. Today I did splurge a little and bought myself a double jogging stroller that I am just itching to use when I get the kids back tomorrow.

All in all it has been a very busy, fun, and exciting year. I am hoping to start posting more regularly, so stay tuned :)
